"Sgt. Mgr. Basil Plumley" Sam Elliot's handgun was an original Colt Model of 1911 US Army marked .45 caliber pistol. Serial #307492, double is Colt 1911 serial #W102962, which was originally in .455 Webley, converted back (not shown).

"Lt. Colonel Harold Moore" Mel Gibson's handgun was a Colt Government Model .45 caliber pistol, serial #C199941.

Mel Gibson's rifle all through the shooting was a Colt M16 set up as an XM16E1 rifle, serial #9054854. Blue tape was how Gibson's gun was identified by Mike Papac upon return to the shop.
