The Maxim - Vickers- Lewis 4 day class will be held at the LMO facility in Henderson, Nevada. The LMO Working Reference Collection will be drawn on for examples not supplied by the instructors. Course Instructors: Chief Instructor, Dr. Ed Weitzman Co-instructors: Dolf Goldsmith, Robert Segel. Guns covered in the class and live fired; 1904 Colt Maxim, 1909 Finnish Maxim, 1909 Brass Maxim on Ackland Mount, 1909 Brass Maxim on Finnish mount 7.65 Arg, 1910 Russian Maxim, Maxim MG08 on sled 8mm, MG08/15 8mm, Chinese 1924 Maxim 8mm, British Vickers in 303 on British tripod, British Turkish Vickers in 8mm on Turkish tripod, 1915 Colt Vickers on correct tripod, Vickers "Shortie", the Vickers South African 308 conversion, Lewis 1914, 1917, Aircraft, and Japanese Lewis. Also covered: Belts, Belt loaders, tools, caliber conversions, tripods, general accessories, ammunition, and the history of the guns. This is intended to be a unique setting where the students get to interact and learn about the Maxim- Vickers and Lewis guns from some of the world's leading authorities. Lunch is included each day. Day 3 is the live fire on all guns day.
