The M203 40mm Grenade Launcher is truly a clever design. Students learn the tricks they need to know, but once they understand the system they are good to go. In this class there is an overview of the history and development of the system, then move into identification of the components of the system, and practical (hands on) training. Students begin with field stripping, proper lubrication procedures and the correct cleaning requirements for various environments. Students are trained in teaching operator inspection of the weapon. When students are proficient, the class moves into Armorer disassembly, inspection and maintenance of the components, and then reassembly of the launchers and full function checks.
