9mm Largo Ammunition Test

The ammunition was tested on March 26, 2000 in Harmony, ME, at Surplus International LLC's facility. Information was gathered by Dan Shea. Chronograph was a Dillon Millenium.

9mm Largo Manufactured in Spain by Empressa Nacional Santa Barbara.

Case Length... 9 x 23mm
Bullet Weight... 127 gr.
Cartridge Weight... 200 gr.
Powder Type... flake (Military)
Powder Weight... 6.0 gr.

 

All cartridges tested out satisfactory. Test firearms were: 1921 Astra 5.5" bbl, Star Super 5.25" bbl, Destroyer Carbine 17" bbl, and Star Z-45 submachine gun 7.75" bbl.

1962 dated boxes: included some 1961 dated cartridge cases, but were primarily 1962. This ammunition used corrosive Berdan primers and will require cleaning of the firearms after use with a cleaner that counteracts the corrosive chemicals. Packaged 25 per cdbd box, 1000 rds per sealed can in wood cs.
